This week, I began working on my original work! When I was drafting out my pamphlet, I wanted to make it easy to read and straight to the point. A lot of the research that I have done is beneficial because I will be able to use it on my pamphlet. I also spent hours reading blogs and articles over stress factors or a family’s journey throughout their NICU stay. I really enjoyed reading and learning more about this, so time went by so fast! I didn’t realize how long it had been, but I retained so much information over information that will be useful for my original work. I have also tried to keep in touch with some of the neonatal nurse practitioners and have asked them some questions that are geared towards my original work. For instance, I have asked several of the NNPs how they personally cope with the stress so it does not overwhelm them. I have had such a great outcome asking this! I also read a blog where an NNP shares her story of how she began this hectic career path. She shared that it was very difficult, but then she got accustomed to how it works and is now very successful. Next week, I am aiming to shift my research more towards the stress factors for medical professionals or NNPs specifically.
