Symposium 10/12/2020

This past week was very exciting!! I was able to attend the ISM 2020 Virtual Business Symposium on October 7, 2020. This was such a great opportunity and an eye opening experience. I’m much more confident now knowing that I have to conduct interviews online. I was able to be interviewed by 3 different professionals. I connected with all of them so easily. Instead of going “by the script”, we were talking openly and it felt like we were just having a normal conversation. This allowed me to relax a little and just talk about myself, ISM and the topic that I’m pursuing. Not only did I receive great feedback, I was also given some pointers on what to add to my resume. I was able to get a different perspective on my work and all that I have accomplished this year through ISM. I feel more reassured that this is the topic that I want to pursue due to the feedback I received. Being able to share my story and my journey to professionals who don’t know me allowed me to get a raw reaction. They were honest in a professional way, which made me feel that I am on the right path. There were some technical difficulties, but I was still able to have 3 very impactful interviews. These technology problems are something that is going to happen a lot, especially because of the situation with COVID-19, but this has prepared me for that. Instead of panicking, I took the time to relax and regroup which then helped me with my next interview. I also read several blogs and stories about NNPs which make me want to continue to learn and grow more in this field!!
